Советские женщины редко хвастались красотой. Во времена СССР яркий макияж считался моветоном. Многие женщины стеснялись, а некоторые даже злились, когда кто-то называл их красивыми. Каноны красоты в Советском Союзе долгое время формировались под влиянием политической и экономической обстановки, а не опирались на столпы международной моды.

Полные барышни в тренде

Советские гражданки должны были быть пышнотелыми, а также обладать сильными руками и ногами. Многие девушки того времени могли заниматься спортом. Физическая культура занимала почётное место в жизни молодёжи. Мало кто придерживался диет с целью похудения. Женщине из СССР нужно было много сил, чтобы работать на фабрике и рожать здоровых детей. Худоба воспринималась как признак болезни и физической слабости.

Лишь 1988 году был проведен первый конкурс красоты в Советском Союзе. После него появилась мода на худобу. Высокая, тонкая женщина с длинными ногами стала эталоном красоты для миллионов советских девушек.

Белокурые красотки

В 30-х годах стало модно красить волосы в цвет блонд. Многие девушки хотели походить на актрису Любовь Орлову, очень популярную тогда в стране. Для осветления волос использовали раствор перекиси водорода. В СССР краски для волос не производились до 70-х годов. Импортная косметика не только стоила дорого, но и была в дефиците. Также в 70-х годах стало модно делать химическую завивку.
